Cannock 2nds vs Highcroft & Great Barr 1sts
Cannock were asked to bat first at home to Highcroft and were soon in trouble after the loss of four early wickets. Mike Chadderton (69) steadied the ship along with captain John Cooke (33) as the pair helped the hosts to a challenging total of 177-7 from their 50 overs.
Dan Wood was the pick of the Cannock bowlers with 5-36 which left the visitors playing for the draw with five overs and one wicket remaining. It was left to captain Cooke to take the final wicket in the penultimate over and secure a much needed victory for the home side.
Cannock 3rds vs Wightwick & Finchfield 2nds
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Cannock were soon on top thanks to some superb bowling and fielding which left the visitors reeling at 65-9. The last pair batted sensibly to get their side up to 100 all out, Ryan Pearce was the standout bowler with 3-18.
The total was to prove no problem for Cannock as Dave Perkins smashed 49 not out and Conor Pearce made 20 helping the home side to reach the total within 17 overs and giving them the win that took them to the top of the league.
Coseley 2nds vs Cannock 4ths
Cannock travelled to league leaders, Coseley and chose to bowl first after winning the toss. The visitors bowled well throughout the innings with captain Aaron Saunders taking 4-43 as the home side were dismissed for 154.
However a disappointing batting display meant that the visitors were never really in the game as they were eventually bowled out for just 83.
